We have seen achilles ruptures that head to surgery in footballers, both elite level and non-elite, in tennis players, squash players, basketball players and...... people that fall from a high ladder and land in high velocity, forced dorsi-flexion….⁠ ⁠ This one was repaired 12 weeks ago fortiusclinic by Mr Rosenfeld and has progressed very well. The patient has been in the Vacoped boot and progressed through the levels from a very anxious partial weight-bearing on crutches at week 3, to a very comfortable unaided gait by week 9 (still in the Vacoped of course). The Vacoped has been taken 'down a notch' each week to gradually allow more dorsiflexion and patient compliance has been excellent.⁠ ⁠ The patient is in his early 60s and desperate to get back on the golf course in the New Year.
