The unique exhibition design and identity of our current exhibition 'The Clamor of Ornament’ was conceived and expertly deployed by the London-based design firm studiofrith.
Working closely with the exhibition's curator, Dr. Emily King, studiofrith created a design that features boldly colored walls, a bespoke typeface, and ornamental caption holders, which are designed to reflect the exhibition hypothesis that ornament (and so color) are a mode of communication, a form of currency, and a means of exchange across geographies and cultures. The exhibition design is carried through in its accompanying catalog, which features over 150 full-color illustrations and three distinctive cover treatments.
See the exhibition, which features nearly 200 works exploring ornament, from Albrecht Dürer to Dapper Dan, before it closes on September 18. Tap the link in our bio to plan your visit.
