As part of “Open Sessions 2018–2020: What’s Love Got to Do with It?” (on-view through Sept 15) we asked each of our artists-in-residence: “What’s Love Got to Do with It?” Open Sessions artist 2018-20 Jonathan Ehrenberg responds by speaking about his work in the exhibition:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Dyads” explores the often-opposing impulses of intimate connections. Whether figures are fighting, working together, pulling at or trying to escape each other, their complexly shifting physical interactions enact emotional ones. Although some of these relationships touch on themes of love, for me the concept of intimacy feels more central to this piece.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Jonathan Ehrenberg lives and works in New York.
