“Open Sessions 2018-20: What's Love Got to Do with It?" on-view through Sept 15 is the full-museum exhibition of the third cycle of The Drawing Center’s Open Sessions program - a two-year artists’ residency with thirty one participants from around the world. Featuring new work by Open Session artists, “What’s Love Got to Do with It?” will include works on paper, video, multimedia and sculpture, as well as installation, all of which place contemporary drawing at the center of an evolving conversation about love. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Keren Benbenisty’s practice examines our relationship to contemporaneity by revealing both the ancient and modern constructs hidden beneath the surface. Her series of drawings Land of Blue Oranges is made on paper used by a citrus packer in Israel to wrap Jaffa oranges (Benbenisty inherited the paper from her grandmother).
