Open Sessions Artist 2018-20: Katarina Burin on the Creative Block and Process
.
“In order to keep an active dialogue with my work and the community– artists, professors, colleagues, students, friends, I've designed and built a space in my studio (my bar and the outside patio furniture) that invites regular social gathering, interaction, and an open studio feeling that keeps me from becoming too caught up in my own problems." - Katarina Burin
.
Katarina Burin lives and works in Cambridge, Massachusetts and New York. Her work has been show at the the CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, San Francisco; Institute of Contemporary Art Boston, Boston; and the Aspen Art Museum, Aspen.
.
Open Sessions is a two-year program which provides opportunities for selected artists to contextualize work and ideas through exhibitions, public programs, and critical dialogue, organized by Rosario Güiraldes and Lisa Sigal, Open Sessions Curators.
