Last night our new program series "Bellwethers: The Culture of Controversy" launched with "Manifesto" (speakers: Chiara Bottici, Sam McKinniss, Adrian Matejka, and Audrey Wollen). For Bellwethers we are convening a prominent group of writers, cultural critics, and artists to respond to a cultural “bellwether” and take it in their own interpretative direction. The series is curated by Alison Gingeras in collaboration with Affidavit's Kaitlin Phillips and Hunter Braithwaite. . Bellwethers continues next Tuesday, May 28 with "Panic" (speakers: Andrea Long Chu and Jamieson Webster). And the final program is on Tuesday, June 4 with "Cancellation" (speakers: Anna Khachiyan and Natasha Stagg).
