This is first exhibition entirely devoted to his drawings in the United States. Featuring more than one hundred fifty never or rarely seen works that span over thirty years of Rauch’s career, this exhibition presents drawing as an essential but often overlooked aspect of his oeuvre. . Neo Rauch, “Souterrain” is in a group of drawings that deal primarily with architecture, landscapes, and manmade objects. Fragments of Bauhaus-like buildings float among German countryside homes; radio towers, parking structures, trees, electrical wires, bomber jets, and futuristic cars interact with each other—with and without figures.
