The exhibition includes works in multiple mediums that offer examples of how we might reimagine historical narratives in order to contend with the traumas of contemporary life. On Jack Kirby and Mark Englert, “North East Corner of Heaven, Lord of Light” series: First drawn in 1979 for a planned film adaptation of Roger Zelazny’s 1967 novel “Lord of Light” that was never produced, these works were presented as concept art for a fake film shoot that served as the cover story for a CIA mission to extract American diplomats taken hostage in the American embassy in Teheran. This incident, which used a fictional alternative history to create a real alternative history, later served as the plot for the 2012 film ”Argo”....
