“I wish I knew the perfect remedy. I guess the important thing is to get out of my studio and see something else. I have the luxury of being able to walk around here in Cambridge, where I can see people moving around. When I was in LA, I used to go to a supermarket or a coffee shop near my studio. I work alone in the studio, so seeing how other people live at the same moment kind of refreshes my mind. Recently, I have been going to museums near my studio. The Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology and the Museum of Natural History are great. Art museums are good too. Especially the older works of art are inspiring, because they seem quite far away from what I do, content and medium-wise, but I still find them beautiful and interesting — it kind of refreshes my approaches to what I am doing.
