“A couple of childhood experiences shaped who I am as an artist till this day, but the moment I had a clear vision as an artist was when I saw Van Gogh’s retrospective for the first time in person. I was totally swept away by the visual impact his paintings had on me. I wanted to create such an experience with my own hands.” - Young Joo Lee

Young Joo Lee lives and works in Los Angeles. Her work has been shown at the Echo Park Film Center, LA; the Anthology Film Archive NY; the Kunsthaus Bregenz, Bregenz.

Open Sessions is a two-year program which provides opportunities for selected artists to contextualize work and ideas through exhibitions, public programs, and critical dialogue, organized by Rosario Güiraldes and Lisa Sigal, Open Sessions Curators.
