Njideka Akunyili Crosby (b. 1983) is a Nigerian-American visual artist that uses painting, printmaking, drawing, and collage to create large-scale hybrid works that speak to her experience as an immigrant and the phenomenon of transculturalism. Usually set within domestic interiors, Akunyili Crosby’s compository images of families and single figure portraits combine American and Nigerian elements.
