Open Sessions Artist 2018-20: Cosmo Whyte when did you decide to become an artist, and why? . “The “decision” to be an artist is one that I find myself revisiting often. From a very young age it became clear to me that this was what I was meant to do. When I was in the 5th grade, my elementary school participated in a painting and drawing competition. While we didn’t win, my painting was printed as a limited edition Jamaican stamp. That experience, staying after school in the art classroom, ignited a passion for art that grew.” - Cosmo Whyte . Cosmo Whyte lives and works in Atlanta and Montego Bay, Jamaica.
