#DrawingPapers Archive
This page from Drawing Papers 82 features “Untitled (Fictional Landscape)” from the “Fictional Reality” series drawn with ink on paper by
#MattMullican in 1975.
The 2008 exhibition “Matt Mullican: A Drawing Translates the Way of Thinking” included work from Mullican’s artistic career, emphasizing the role of drawing in his attempt to understand, organize, and categorize experience. Mullican’s practice, surveyed through drawings, collages, video, and installation, confronts the nature of subjective understanding, rationality, perception, and cognition—in essence proposing a ‘picture’ of the world through the medium of drawing.
The Drawing Papers are a series of publications documenting The Drawing Center’s exhibitions and public programs and providing a forum for the study of drawing. -Kate Robinson, Bookstore Manager
