"What the Body Can Do: Open Sessions 11” is on view in our Lab gallery through November 19. Wed-Sun 12-6pm | Thurs 12-8pm. The exhibition captures the movement and potential of individual bodies in collective action. The artists in this exhibition use drawing to interrogate images, dissect spectacles of war, and savor protest cinema. The exhibition features Danielle Dean, Olalekan Jeyifous, Jennifer May Reiland, Slinko, and Hồng-An Trương.
On Jennifer May Reiland’s work: "Her most recent work draws upon historical research to show the parallel narratives between royal women. […] From Marie Antoinette to Princess Diana, Reiland explores the attraction and repulsion that these women create in the public, and compares their adoration and often violent deaths with other social rituals of worship and punishment.”
