Normal means lack of imagination, lack of creativity.” ― Jean Dubuffet Jean Dubuffet (1901-1985) was the founder of the Art Brut movement and opted to ignore standard aesthetic beauty instead making what he felt better represented humanity. Dubuffet felt the monotonous everyday human experience contained more art than an exceptional poem or painting; therefore, his unorthodox paintings acted as a satire towards the concept and restraints of high art.
