Ezra Wube, originally from Addis Ababa, presents a work that explores the experiences of immigration: the title refers to "paper" as in a legal document, as in paperwork, while “plates" refers to the geological term plate-tectonics. Together, the elements of the piece recall the aspects of the self that may be “discarded” as one adapts to new surroundings.
