Welcome to the neighborhood, Institute of Arab and Islamic Art (IAIA) instituteaia! IAIA is “an independent, non-profit hub that promotes and advances the artistic and cultural dialogue between New York City and the Arab and Islamic worlds”. Their inaugural show “Exhibition 1”, on view through July 31, focuses on the influence of Islamic architecture on contemporary visual art and features work from four female artists in the Arab & Islamic world: #DanaAwartani, #MonirShahroudyFarmanfarmaian, #ZarinaHashmi, and #NasreenMohamedi.
