A Page from the #DrawingPapers Archive This page from Drawing Papers 52 features an untitled drawing by #NasreenMohamedi created in 1977 with pencil and ink on graph paper. The 2005 exhibition, Narseen Mohamedi: Lines among Lines, presented the contemplative abstract drawings and photographs of Indian artist Nasreen Mohamedi (1937-1990). Mohamedi’s spare drawings were informed by ideas of modernity and by the geometry of Islamic architecture. The artist attempted to render, in her black-and-white photographs and fine line drawings, detailed observations on an ever changing landscape - spanning from the serene shifting sands of Kihim, India to the modernized congestion of Bombay and Delhi. The Drawing Papers are a series of publications documenting The Drawing Center’s exhibitions and public programs and providing a forum for the study of drawing. -Kate Robinson, Bookstore Manager
