"Marginalia: Open Sessions 10" is on view Wed-Sun 12-6pm | Thur 12-8pm. The artists in this exhibition view borders and barriers as material through which to build new avenues of both trespass and solidarity. Marginalia features Daniel Bejar, Ana Peñalba, Sue Jeong Ka, Carolyn Lambert, Srinivas Mangipudi, Irini Miga, and Rodrigo Valenzuela. Ana Peñalba’s “(Re)production 02: Vanna Venturi House” was part of a site specific installation at the Revolution Recovery Waste Recycling Center in Northeast Philadelphia. Peñalba constructs portraits of some of Philadelphia’s most renowned buildings by outlining them using trash materials. The constructions are a fantastical sum of disparate parts. The entropy of the built environment and inevitable collapse through use and time are manifest in Penalba’s video, which documents the dismantling. The entire project is displayed in the accompanying vitrine. #AnaPeñalba Video: Ana Peñalba, “PHILLI - 10 [DIS]APPEARANCES” 06 min. 31 sec. Digital Video
