For #MuseumInstaSwap 2017 The Drawing Center is giving you an inside look at our neighbor the New Museum newmuseum. In 2014 the New Museum launched NEW INC, first museum-led cultural incubator dedicated to supporting innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurship across art, design, and technology. The program accepts 40 full time and 40 part time members a year in fields ranging from music to interactive art, gaming, web development, fashion, performing arts, film, and architecture, pairing them with mentors and each other in collaborative environments. Starting this spring, artists from the New Museum’s incubator, NEW INC will work in collaboration with Bell Labs. This partnership is bringing together artists and engineers to explore the creative potential in emerging technologies, from drones to biometry, robotics, and machine learning.
