STAFF PICKS: Looking for a bite to eat in SoHo? Here is a neighborhood gem. Each Wednesday we will post a Drawing Center food fav.
Westville is one of the more reliable lunch spots for locals and those working in the area. The sandwiches and salads are the kind of perfectly portioned, satisfying fare that become part of your daily routine. There are hot dogs, hamburgers, tuna sandwiches, arugula salads, and BLT’s on rye. The desserts are similarly standard american fare: pies, cookies, ice cream, and a rotating variety of whoopie pies. The diner-style foods are a comfort during a busy day, but Westville also has a selection of mixed vegetables and salads to go, from bok choy with garlic to cauliflower with tahini, always welcome snacks as I sit at my desk. The standard american fare is a safe and filling choice, but a cut above its diner counterparts. -Isabella Kapur, Communications Intern
