STAFF PICKS: Looking for a bite to eat in SoHo? Here is a neighborhood gem. Each Wednesday we will post a Drawing Center food fav. A greek bakery and cafe less than two blocks from The Drawing Center, Pi Bakerie is a recent discovery for me. Walking by after work a few weeks ago, the sparkling glass cases neatly packed with pastries caught my eye, beckoning behind floor to ceiling windows. The glistening bronze tables and bright lights still don’t seem to quite live up to the magic of the many varieties of baklava that greet visitors, draped in caramelized syrup and shot through with an array of vibrant fillings. I may have loaded my first plate too high with sweets, but my enthusiasm got the better of me when I saw the powdery wedding cookies and aromatic koulouraki, two of my personal favorites. Sipping tea or coffee as you snack on the delicate cookies would be enough, but Pi Bakerie also has an extensive menu of savory items including, naturally, deep dish pies, as well as sandwic...
