STAFF PICKS: Looking for a bite to eat in SoHo? Here is a neighborhood gem. Each Wednesday we will post a Drawing Center food fav. In a way, I am indebted to The Grey Dog. Their locations have been my frequent solution to that inevitable “where do you want to go,” “I don’t care, where do you want to go” back and forth that plagues hungry friends who will end up eating lunch at 4pm thanks to indecisiveness. The Grey Dog is quick, fun, and full of variety, with soups, sandwiches, and salads that could be called standard if they weren’t so tasty. That’s the magic of The Grey Dog, it's casual and welcoming with the kind of food that will make everyone happy. The atmosphere is similarly friendly, asking customers to simply place an order at the front counter and sit at one of the weathered tables chatting until their order is up.
