STAFF PICKS: Looking for a bite to eat in SoHo? Here is a neighborhood gem. Each Wednesday we will post a Drawing Center food fav.
There is very little to say about Dominique Ansel Bakery that has not already been said. I remember passing by the shop and salivating at the sight of their rainbow of meringues well before it shot to popularity for the famous cronut. The bakery was well established enough even before viral fame to gain a reputation as one of the most impressive and whimsical bakeries around. I return every once and awhile when I need a treat for a special occasion or a pick-me up on a dreary day. Aside from the mind-blowing pastries, including frozen s’mores and cookie shot glasses, Dominique Ansel Bakery also offers lunch options. Made to order sandwiches and quiches are available from an ever shifting menu of savory bites, a pleasant surprise for those visiting expecting only sweets. -Isabella Kapur, Communications Intern
