Often considered the youngest member of the first generation of Abstract Expressionist painters, Richard Pousette-Dart is best-known for his biomorphic paintings that intermingle geometric and totemic forms. Pousette-Dart created his quasi-abstract and densely-layered canvases by combining varied materials and techniques, including automatic drawing, scraping, dripping, and blotting.
