Artists have a variety of methods to make their mark. Every Friday we will share a photograph of an #ArtistInAction. Painter Zheng Enli was born in Jilin, China (1965) and currently works in Shanghai. Much of his work draws upon on the transition he went through moving from a small city to a metropolis. Enli is a strong believer that his creativity flourishes when he is quiet and isolated from other people. Enli’s work stands out from many of his Chinese contemporaries as it doesn’t aim to make any grand political or cultural statements. Instead Enli focuses on seemingly insignificant subjects such as types of containers or trees and refrains from being critical or sentimental.
