Open Sessions 7: Hibernating Plan is on view Wed-Sun 12-6pm | Thur 12-8pm. This is a group exhibition that considers drawing in relationship to the sense of suspended time inherent in planning. Featuring artists #ShereeHovsepian, #RafaelKelman, #Arnold Kemp, #ThessiaMachado, #SunMoqing, #SaraChangYan, and #TuguldurYondonjamts, the exhibition explores the notion of the “sketch” in relation to the instinct to hibernate, intuit, and mull over. Sun Moqing explores states in between common opposites - bright/dark, moving/still, isolated/communal. Traditional Chinese painting, antique maps, texts, and current scientific illustrations and hypotheses provide essential inspiration for him.
