Thessia Machado on her Open Sessions 7 work: “On the walls of The Drawing Center a field of light-sensitive, sound-making circuits sprout and colonize a surface. Each circuit hub extends tendrils to collect light from projected drawings. Triggered by the light of moving lines, the autonomous modules emit snippets of sounds and mechanical stirrings through clusters of speakers. The sounds started as sine waves generated by transpositions of spatial information from the gallery.
