Fred Sandback’s “Untitled”, 1982 from the LeWitt Collection is installed for the first time in The Drawing Center’s current exhibition Drawing Dialogues. While Sandback considered himself a sculptor throughout his career, the context of the Drawing Dialogues exhibition brings to light the aspects of Sandback’s yarn installations that delineate space and as such remain grounded in drawing. The strands of yarn, suspended in our Drawing Room space, appear three dimentional when viewed from afar, but they take on the quality of marks when viewed at close range. #LeWittCollection #FredSandback #LeWittCollection is on view through this Sunday, June 12. Wed-Sun 12-6pm | Thur 12-8pm Image: Fred Sandback, Untitled, detail, 1982. Yarn, installation size: height variable depending on ceiling x 162 inches x 17 inches. © 2016 Fred Sandback Archive.
