“Pocket Drawing" is an example of what William Anastasi refers to as ‘unsighted’ works or works made without looking. The drawings were made by Anastasi by folding sheets of paper into pocket-sized squares. Walking through the streets with a pencil held against the folded paper, Anastasi allowed marks to appear on the folded sheet, each of which acts as an index of the artist's gait. After one section was completed, Anastasi would refold the paper and repeat the process. “Drawing Dialogues: Selections from the Sol LeWitt Collection” features over 100 works by more than 60 artists from this extraordinary collection.
