Today, OpenHouseNewYork , Cristobal Correa from BuroHappold Engineering, and our Executive Director, Brett Littman, gave a structural and architectural tour of The Drawing Center. The visitors were shown the technologies used to retrofit a typical Soho cast iron building. The mission of Open House New York is to promote a greater appreciation of the city’s built environment; broaden public awareness by exposing diverse audiences to distinctive examples of architecture, engineering and design; educate and inspires discussion of issues of excellence in design, planning and preservation; and showcase outstanding new work as well as structures of historic merit.
