A Page from the #DrawingPapers Archive This page from Drawing Papers 31 features a charcoal on paper drawing titled “Scanners, from History of the Main Complaint” created by William Kentridge in 1995. This piece was featured in the 2002 exhibition that celebrated the 25th anniversary of The Drawing Center. The 25th Anniversary Benefit Selections Exhibition invited all of the 750 artists whose work had been featured in Selections or Drawing Room exhibitions since 1977 to participate. The exhibition featured nearly 400 drawings by the invited artists and included two symposia dedicated to the discussion of drawing. Kentridge, who had previously exhibited his drawn films in the Drawing Room in 1998, was also featured on one of the two panels. The discussions were transcribed in Drawing Papers 31.
