Today is the last chance to see #OpenSessions 3 in our Lab gallery. Open Sessions 3 presents the works of multidisciplinary artists #BeckyBrown, #ErnestoCaivano, #AnnetteCords, #SteffaniJemison, #NyeemaMorgan, #ZachRockhill, and #JinaValentine, all of whom share an interest in the relationship between drawing and language. Like drawing, language renders abstract thought into concrete expression. In the diverse works on view, paper, newsprint, acetate, and video support drawings made with graphite, thread, inkjet, collage, character, performance, time, and space. Open Sessions is a new program at The Drawing Center through which, over the course of two years, a large group of artists considers their relationship to drawing as a medium, process, and metaphor.
