In 2000, the exhibition "Cyrilla Mozenter: Very Well Saint" presented a series of drawings, the title of which was adapted from the phrase “very well saints,” which was used by Gertrude Stein in her libretto for Virgil Thompson’s opera Four Saints in Three Acts. With an inspired sense of play that can be likened to Stein’s inventive use of language, Mozenter’s drawings reflected a singsong pattern of interrelated visual references.
