#AnnaMariaMaiolino (born 1942) is also a multifaceted artist. Maiolino was born in Italy and then immigrated to Venezuela. In 1960, she and her family moved to Brazil where she aligned with
#LygiaClark and
#HélioOiticica in the
#NewFigurationMovement. Later, Maiolino devoted herself to
#Minimalism and
#Conceptual art in the United States.
In 2002, Anna Maria Maiolino’s exhibition “A Life Line/Vida Afora” at The Drawing Center marked her solo exhibition in the United States.
