This page from #DrawingPapers 105 features a detail from a drawing made from acrylic, ink, graphite, and color pencil titled Glass Off, created by #KenPrice in 2000. This piece was featured in "Slow and Steady Wins the Race", a 2014 exhibition that marked the first survey of drawings by Ken Price - an artist best known for his ceramic sculptural work- and chronicled his 50 year pursuit of the drawing medium. “Glass off,” surfer’s lingo for a calm ocean as well of the title of this piece demonstrates Price’s ability to produce some of the most surreal configurations imaginable, where dramatic skies become one with the land. Price bled light-filled heavens into being by diluting acrylic to the consistency of watercolor and brushing the medium onto paper.
