A Page from the #DrawingPapers Archive This page from Drawing Papers 98 features an etching and aquatint on copper titled, Natura morta con vaso, lumino e piato, created by #GiorgioMorandi in 1929. Morandi’s etchings were featured in our 2011 exhibition called Drawing and its Double, which presented engraved metal printing plates dating from the sixteenth century to the late twentieth century, culled exclusively from the collections of the Istituto Nazionale per la Grafica. Morandi’s subtle mark-making in this etching captures the solemn monumentality present in so many of his still lifes. The Drawing Papers are a series of publications documenting The Drawing Center’s exhibitions and public programs and providing a forum for the study of drawing. -Kate Robinson, Bookstore Manager
