Italian Leather came out like two weeks ago and I have not posted about it yet so here goes:
When my cousin Lou passed away last fall, I knew that I really wanted to do some sort of tribute to him, but I couldn’t quite place my finger on what that might be.
On one fortuitous Tuesday, I was sitting alone in the cold staring at the MFA when an idea started forming in my noggin. I jotted down some ideas but they were only fragments and I wasn’t exactly sure what it all meant.
Then, a couple months later, I came to thearcitype with a collection of folk music I intended to record but after some conversation we decided to get funky once more. As soon as I got the guitar in my hands I realized that there would be no better way to memorialize Lou than by making some balls to wall heist music and I had, in fact, already started writing that very song. By the end of the session the song had basically written itself and jmudrums had already thrown down some tracks.
