Sharakha is a 4th year Mechanical Engineering student, with an Energy concentration. She shares with us the reasons why she chose UOIT and the opportunities she’s had thus far. “I fell in love with UOIT during my Open house. The residence was amazing (North Hall, Simcoe Village) and the classes were small enough that I didn’t feel lost in the crowd of engineering students as I felt at the other universities that I visited. It was perfect for me. UOIT has provided me with opportunities to hone my leadership skills through extra-curricular avenues. My confidence in my professional capabilities grew in UOIT’s Women in Engineering club and UOIT’s Engineering Society. The capstone project that I am working on is under the supervision of an amazing professor and I’m working with equally amazing teammates.
