4th year student Andrea, chose UOIT’s Nuclear Engineering programs because she wanted to challenge herself to do the best she could. “The nuclear engineering program offered at UOIT is unique because it is the only stand-alone nuclear undergraduate program in Canada. I heard really great things about UOIT and how they set their students up for success. I have always had an interest in nuclear and wanted to expand my knowledge. One great part of the nuclear engineering program is the opportunity for students to go on co-ops or internships to gain valuable work experience in the nuclear industry. At the end of my 3rd year I spent 15 months interning in Ottawa at the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC). It was such an amazing experience. I worked in 4 different divisions, travelled on inspections, attended conventions and workshops, and worked on various projects.
