It's National Voter Registration Day!
The National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) of 1993 requires states to have voter registration deadlines for federal elections be set to no more than 30 days before an election. While many states follow the 30 days prior rule, some states have 15 days and some states, like California & Illinois even allow voters to register on Election Day (states like North Carolina & Montana only allow same day voter registration during the early voting). In addition, states may have different deadlines for applications completed online, by mail, and in person.
It seems complicated but it doesn't have to be! Get ready to vote now by going to
vote.org. Make sure you're registered and that you're meeting the deadlines by your state! Check the infographic for how to ensure that you are voter ready.
