Fudge, who was confirmed to serve as the Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development by a Senate vote of 66-34 earlier this afternoon. She will be the first Black woman in 40 years to serve in this position, following in the footsteps of Soror Patricia Roberts Harris, who served in this position during the Jimmy Carter administration.
