Posted • dstinc1913 On this day, 108 years ago, the 22 Founders of Delta Sigma Theta boldly marched into American history by participating in the Women's Suffrage Parade of 1913. Thousands of women took to the streets of Washington, D.C. on March 3, 1913, one day before Woodrow Wilson's inauguration, to advocate for women's right to vote. In this heroic debut, the Founders of Delta Sigma Theta marched alongside white suffragists while knowing that the battle to the ballot was not over for Black women. Yet and still, they bravely traveled down Pennsylvania Avenue just months after forming our beloved Sorority. Today, we pay homage to our Founders' fortitude and the trail they blazed for Black women in politics. #DST1913 #PowerInOurVote #PowerInOurVoice
