📢 UCU has announced their first strike date as Wednesday 1st February 2023. ▪️This action coincides with ‘Protect the Right to Strike Day’ which will see strikes across 5 unions nationally. ▪️In addition to 1st February, a further 17 days of action across February and March will be confirmed next week. ▪️UCU are taking industrial action in relation to race and gender pay gaps, working conditions, casual employment contracts, pay and pension cuts. We want to know whether you support UCU’s new round of strikes. ▪️The Officers will be holding student consultations at Nexus this Friday (20th January) and our team will be at The Big Fair on 24th January in the Sports Centre getting your feedback. ▪️In addition, we will have a Strike Forum next week (time and location TBC – watch this space). ▪️This consultation will all feed into KU Parliament on Monday 30th January when the decision will be made as to whether Kent Union supports or does not support the UCU in their industrial action. ...
