#onthisday 55 years ago in 1965, Gary Player defeated Kel Nagle in an 18-hole playoff to win the U.S. Open, and in doing so completed the career Grand Slam before turning 30 years old. At the time, he was the youngest player to ever reach this milestone. In winning the U.S. Open, Player also became the first foreign-born winner of the tournament since Scotland's Tommy Armour in 1927. #fistpump #golf
