In 1995, on the onset of the new ownership of Universal Studios, Seagram’s. Matt Stone and Trey Parker (of South Park fame) were asked to create a comedy short film commissioned by comedic filmmaker David Zucker. This close to 14-minute film is entitled “Your Studio and You” and was played at an employee-only event. It included several A-list celebrities such as: Steven Spielberg, Traci Lords, James Cameron, Shaun Cassidy, Angela Lansbury, Demi Moore, John Singleton, Darrin Pfeiffer, Heavy D, Sylvester Stallone, Brian Grazer, and more. It parodies the style of 1950s educational films such as "Duck and Cover" (1952) while poking fun at Universal and its talent. It was shot on the Universal Studios lot. We included a talk that the Paley Center for Media did in 2000, with Matt Stone and Trey Parker as they explain how it came to be.
