It’s been another frightening week in London. With four people stabbed in just 42 hours and a fifth person a day later, it is clear that the streets of the nation’s capital are not safe under the current Mayor Sadiq Khan. The truth is this: on his watch, our city has become a lawless, dangerous place for its citizens. One incident even included a Metropolitan Police officer being attacked by an individual armed with a knife in Enfield, leaving residents of our great city asking the same question: when will the escalating cycle of violence stop? It’s little wonder that these are the problems we’re facing. The mayor has closed 37 police stations since he came to power in 2016. In the past 10 years, the average distance of Londoners to their nearest police station has doubled from 1.4km to 3.1km, with the effect being that there has been a persistent increase in violent crimes of around 11%.
