Today my family and I took a long drive and made some serious physical efforts to get to a beautiful spot we discovered years ago. And no, I won’t tell you where. 😉 Sometimes you have to put in the work so things stay pristine.
Sunday has become my very favorite day.
I used to dread them.
I always wanted them to be a day of rest, contemplation and connection to something bigger. I was taught that meant to spend Sunday in a certain kind of way. And I almost always felt low and drained afterwards.
The process of questioning the “shoulds” and status quo has transformed every facet of my life, Sunday being a huge one. Walking into a building and being surrounded by community did nothing for my spirit. But sometimes we just walk the path we’ve always walked. Even when the view has grown stale.
When I finally admitted I was walking the wrong direction, I got off the path and finally found joy.
