It’s going to be hot this weekend, so opted for a quick walk around the park before the temperatures peaked. In 20 minutes and within one mile, this is what I saw in Meridian:
• A woman playing catch with her dog, and getting into the grass and wrestling
• An older gentleman sitting on a park bench, watching a flurry of baby ducks
• A college-age woman fishing in the pond with her coffee nearby
• Four women doing yoga while socially distancing
• A woman guiding her special-needs companion along the path - both wearing masks and laughing
• children climbing a tree
• City workers tending the shrubs
• Two new moms pushing babies in strollers
• The crash of a baseball and parents cheering
• A grandma sitting far from the baseball practice, waving her grandson on
• two sisters drawing on the sidewalk with chalk

None of these things are epic or monumental. But all of these scenes are indication that where we live is beautiful and the time we live is blessed.
Every single one of us...
