"To learn to read is to light a fire; every syllable that is spelled out is a SPARK." — Victor Hugo. Timothy House students couldn't agree more with the poet-novelist, demonstrating their love of reading during Roaring Readers Week! They participated in a range of engaging activities, including D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read) Day; a read-aloud snack time shared with guests; a video-chat with Jennifer Holm, author of The Fourteenth Goldfish; and a Roaring Readers Book Club discussion of Counting by 7s.
Topping off the week was dress-down day — students dressed as their favorite book characters, including Harry Potter, the Wizard of Oz, Nate the Great ... and Head of Lower School Martha Hirschman dressed up, too — as Nancy Drew! 📚
